For all of his recent success on the track, Denny Hamlin should be just as recognized for what he is doing with his foundation. Recently, in an effort to raise money and gain awareness for cystic fibrosis he hosted the Short Track Showdown at the SouthSide Speedway, just outside of Richmond, VA. Since the NASCAR Cup guys were in town already, he had no problem getting his friends to come hop in a late model and compete with the local racers in a 250 lap crash fest. Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch, and Kevin Harvick headlined the action packed event, and 3 Wide Life was in the house to capture all of the excitement.

This was the perfect opportunity to introduce new 3 Wide Life correspondent Tiff Daniels, as she was the expert on the scene to help make since of all the cars, rules, drivers and highlights. A late model driver herself, Daniels was able to provide an insight that only a real racer could offer. All said and done, the event was a huge success as there was not an empty seat, or spot to lean on the fence in the entire place. The result was in doubt until the final turn on the final lap, creating an awesome finish that will not soon be forgotten.

Also featured in this week's episode is a profile of the all time winningest NHRA Top Fuel drag racer Tony Shumacher. He explains his drive to compete as well as the incredible story of losing his entire team, rebuilding and still finding a way to defend his championship belt. "The Sarge" sat down with us and told the 3 Wide Life crew why his cockpit is the greatest in the world.

To make sure that we are not forgetting about the NASCAR Hall of Fame opening in Charlotte this week, we spend some time with inaugural inductee Junior Johnson and his son Robert as they discuss one legendary career as well as the emerging career of another.
